How have you gotten #offthesidelines?

May 20, 2014 / Off The Sidelines

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand launched Off The Sidelines as a call to action to women to get engaged in the issues they care about and to make their voices heard. Getting off the sidelines can take many forms, of course, from starting a Twitter account, to writing a letter to the editor, to volunteering on a campaign, or even running for office yourself.

There are so many ways to get off the sidelines, but there’s perhaps no better inspiration to take a step toward that goal than hearing the stories of others who have gotten off the sidelines already.

That’s why the new Off The Sidelines site features stories of women who have spoken out and made a difference on the issues they are passionate about.

It’s also why we want to hear how you have gotten off the sidelines. If you’re on Twitter, please share your story by tweeting us a picture of you holding a sign with your off the sidelines story.

For example, here’s how Kirsten got off the sidelines:

Tweet us your pictures using #offthesidelines and we’ll be sure to share them so they can serve as an inspiration to so many others.

If you’re not on Twitter, you can share your story with us here.

Thanks for your continued activism and for making your voice heard!
